Peeked in the windows on Saturday, nothing had been done to the inside from what I could see. Although there was a man sitting at the bar doing some paper work.

Isn't the Gusto kind of the new America's Pub in which it caters to more of the hip hop/shootings in parking lot crowd or is there another place?

Went to a soft opening for Char Bar on Friday - this is going to be a solid addition to the neighborhood. I had the 'Holy Trinity' of ribs, brisket and burnt ends. While the brisket was good, the ribs and bunt ends were exceptional. We also tried the fried green tomato app, which was very good. I opted for roasted corn succotash as my side, which the server recommended, but it was disappointing and flavorless. Another item I ordered was called Cheesy Corn Spoonbread, sort of a polenta mixed with cornbread and jalapenos and topped with cheese - I'd opt for something different next time.

The beer garden is still under construction, but looks like a fantastic space in nice weather...entry from one of the dining areas via a wall of doors that slide open.

Is that white the final color? It could really use a bit of color to punch it up. It looks like a medical office building for some reason.

Looks like it, according to the rendering. I like it. It's clean & modern. It has 100X more 'punch' now, and in the spring the foliage will soften it up some. I'm usually not a fan of painting brick, but this building blended into the background so much before that you could walk by and not even notice it.

I like it better than the brick, but it could really use some color.

I agree that it looks like a hospital right now, maybe signage will help?

Thanks for all the photos!

Why must every building try to be noticed? Let the sign be noticed. Let the gesture to the street be noticed. Let the people inside having fun and visible to the street be noticed. Let an outside patio be noticed. Let the activity of limos and tour buses be noticed.

Most buildings just need to contribute to the greater good (in this case, called Westport). I don't hate these updates, but it is trying to get noticed at the cost of a greater Westport.

The one in Lee's Summit has been closed for a few years. It converted into a sandwich and crepe place that also closed.

Looks like a new pizza place will be opening in the Rivermarket and another breakfast/lunch spot in the Crossroads. Good news.
