The first phase of the Northland Innovation Campus, a 90,000-square-foot education building to be built near the intersection of North Oak Trafficway and Northeast 69th Street in Gladstone, will break ground in April and should be complete in time for the 2016-17 school year.

Harrell said North Kansas City's gifted education program will be in the new building, which will handle additional space demands in the future. The campus also will be home to the Northland

Dan Carr, a principal with the Kansas City-based developer, said the build team is assembled for the project. Kansas City-based general contractor McCownGordon Construction LLC will provide construction services. Leawood-based Hoefer Wysocki Architects will provide design services. Overland Park-based BHC Rhodes and Lenexa-based Henderson Engineers Inc. will handle engineering duties.

Carr said North Kansas City will occupy about two-thirds of the space at the new building. CBC is in negotiations to bring a postsecondary education provider to the building as well.

Carr said a 50,000-square-foot second-phase building also is being planned. He said work on the second phase should begin before the first phase is complete in 2016
This is a block south of the new apartments at Linden Square. it's hard to tell from the images but it looks like they did parking design well. one side is on 69th and it looks like the corner is on N. Oak. something to watch further

McCownGordon did the Union Carbide-Lane Printers renovation. The design is modern suburban but at least it will be well put together.

Construction has begun on a $20 million research and education building in Gladstone that will provide space for the North Kansas City school district and Northwest Missouri State University.

The 90,000-square-foot Northland Innovation Campus, at Northeast 69th Street and North Oak Trafficway, is expected to be completed in May 2016. A second phase is also planned for a 50,000-square-foot building, according to CBC Real Estate Group.

I put photos on Twitter, but this building is going to dominate along N Oak. It's not as large as Cerner Oaks but it's right at the street.

Gladstone is building the foundations for a new midtown.

The building is up and it looks great. With it's spot it towers over the surrounding neighborhoods.

Gladstone is building a model for dense suburban redevelopment and it's doing it with buildings that would fit into the Crossroads or River Market at that.
