Our NASA bus has returned to the main building at the end of the day. I bet it took some doing to move this big rocket into the building
and hoist it overhead.
The big pipes captured my interest.
...as did the service module.
...and the inner-workings.
I took a few pictures on the way back to the hotel.
I thought these trees were pretty, with the magical blue color. I applied a jagged filter to the image, but the color is unchanged.
It is the next day (2/9/14), and we are visiting the Enchanted Forest Sanctuary.
My son found a flower, and he is photographing it with his iPhone.
My son is traversing a forest path. I'm close behind, of course. The best part? No rain!
Husband and son are taking a rest. By the time I got there, they were ready to move on. No rest for me!
Nice frond.
Nice parasite. (The plant, not my son.)
Florida 2014 Part 3
Re: Florida 2014 Part 3
I guess I'll take a picture of anything.
No plants like that here in Missouri.
Swamp trees.
My son had my camera and caught my husband and me walking on the path.
Grass is growing in an abandoned pipe.
I took four pictures of this tree, starting at the bottom. Here is the first one.
And here is the last. Both this and the last picture were portrait-oriented, edge-feathered and pasted into a larger section of itself.
The hanging moss is pretty, I think.
Nice berries. You notice the bright, red color as you trek through the swamp.
Frond City.
I duplicated this portrait-oriented picture, flipped it and put the two images side by side.
I'll snap a flower every chance I get.

Son, taking a picture of wildflowers.
This frond looked like a fountain to me, either water or fireworks. (It's really a portrait-oriented image pasted in a larger section of itself.)
Speaking of sprouting fronds, this one is just getting started.
In the original picture, you can barely see my son walking through the dense, swamp forest. (This is another portrait pic within itself.)
It's just treetops, but I thought they were so pretty.
Where is the fan dancer?
Husband is entering a forest hole.
Closer...
Big fan.
Now for a fern or two.
And a berry or two...
Whadaya know. A flower. Sort of. I especially like those blurred, colorful stems in the background.

Re: Florida 2014 Part 3
There were a few flowers yelling, "Take my picture!"
My son is at the other end of the "tunnel."
This nubby tree held fascination. Well, so did the little flowers.
A closer look.
If I got into a pose like this, somebody would have to roll me over onto a stretcher.
You never know what you will find on a swamp path.
Like I said. This time it is my husband, waiting at the end of the "tunnel."
Sometimes you just have to take license with a portrait-oriented image. I guess I do that all the time. This one is on top of a larger
portion of itself.
I spent forever trying to figure out what to do with this one. Nothing worked. This "solution" is barely acceptable.
Just look up and click.
The remains of an unwanted tree.
Almost like a "normal" forest.

Re: Florida 2014 Part 3
As we finished up with the swamp area, we noticed this big turtle, residing in a general area where people could grab lunch or whatever.
None of the flowers were spectacular. They just tried to survive.
Well, maybe a little spectacular. Like a pinwheel.
As we drove to our next destination, we spotted surfing kites along the way. (Is that what they're called?)
The entire portrait-oriented image was nice, but this little 4:3 section was nice, too. I was going to use it as a background, but it looked okay by itself.
We have arrived at Canaveral Beach. Or "Seashore," I guess.
My husband had to walk up stairs to get to the beach on the other side of the hill.
And here is the beach. Or seashore.
Is my son taking a selfie with his iPhone? I don't think so.
He's probably taking a picture of all the fishing poles on the beach, like this one.
Oh, look! There is NASA off in the distance.
Another shot of the stairs up to the beach, minus my husband. What a nice sky!

Re: Florida 2014 Part 3
This is actually a small portion of the original picture with a filter applied. Sometimes desperation prevails.
Yeah, it was a picture of the wooden deck/path, with a subsequent Photoshop experiment. Hey! Nobody pays me.
This poor, little flower planted itself. A worthy effort.
We took a lot of pictures of this guy. Is he smiling?
The effect wasn't exactly what I was seeking, but it will have to do.
Another shot on location. With background trees.
This heron was screaming, "Take my picture!"
More waterfowl. On water, on land and in air.
One bird and one moon steal the scene.
We took a gazillion pictures of this stupid, pink bird. I don't know why. We caught him landing here.
Looking for a snack, I guess.
The intent of this picture was to show the great number of birds. The image had a bunch of foreground foliage I didn't like, so I
deleted it with a big, feathered selection.

Heron.
Waterworld.
See the people on the path?
Sunbathing.
I had to clone out an ugly trash can. Maybe it would have made the picture more interesting. : /
Great Blue Heron.
Toe-dancing heron.
