One Light - 13th & Walnut
Re: Proposed apartment for 13th and Walnut - One Light
I believe they are on the 19th floor. so about 6 more floors to go, should be about the same size as the H&R block building, but much narrower from this angle.

floor 5 is the first level with glass the whole way across so that's floor 19 being pouredpash wrote:I think that's right. There will be ten more levels above the top level with glass in that photo, I believe, or six more floor slabs still to be poured, plus the roof. So I think there's a good chance that it will appear taller in the skyline than the Block building.
the glass is up to 15, three floors without.
so I agree with 10 levels needing glass
if you stack 7 sections of glass for floors 19-25 (7x) on top you can get a feeling of the height. (I used a sticky note, marked lines and moved to the top of the floor that's curing in view) The building will appear to be as tall as the gray utility box on top of H&R Block. really, the roof will be a bit taller so any utility room, such as the elevator space if roof mounted, will be taller

Based off what's built and the renderings, I PhotoShopped the picture and this should be pretty close to what it will look like.

Re: Proposed apartment for 13th and Walnut - One Light
While the building looks pretty small among the other towers, I'm personally glad that it's not too much taller in that location because it would block the 909 Walnut tower and ultimately make the skyline considerably less interesting from what is probably the best and most popular place to view and photograph the skyline.KCLover wrote:Based off what's built and the renderings, I PhotoShopped the picture and this should be pretty close to what it will look like.
However, KC desperately needs a modern 350-600 foot tower east of Grand. There is a gaping whole in the skyline between Grand and Oak and everything east of Grand (except the Sprint Center) looks like a city that has not changed in 50-60 years. Two Light would look great from the south and really improve the skyline if it were around 30-35 floors. They should add a hotel portion to Two Light to increase its height. You would think a hotel like a W there would do very well so close to the Sprint Center.

The pool and park is on the 4th floor. That's where to count from

Is the yellow crane in this photo for the hotel being built just south of the loop on Baltimore? I thought it was a low rise - surprised to see a tower crane there.KCLover wrote:Based off what's built and the renderings, I PhotoShopped the picture and this should be pretty close to what it will look like.

the crane seems about right to mepash wrote:Yes, it's for the hotel. The building will have 11 or 12 stories, so it will be one of the tallest buildings in the Crossroads, but I was also surprised by the size of the crane. The builder has photos and a drone video of the construction on Twitter, but there's not much there yet.
the height is clearly right
the arm size needs to get to the corner of 16th and Main for the garage construction so it has to be long.

I was at the park up on the roof of Cosentino's last week. This building looks pretty good. The balconies are nice, but it looks like none of the windows open.

Does the US flag on top mean building has topped out?
Re: Proposed apartment for 13th and Walnut - One Light
I thought a Christmas tree meant it was topped out. The flag just means we're #1
Re: Proposed apartment for 13th and Walnut - One Light
they have poured the 23rd floor this week. so 24th,25th, and roof are left.
