One Light - 13th & Walnut
Re: Proposed apartment for 13th and Walnut - One Light
anyone have new pictures of the tower?
Re: Proposed apartment for 13th and Walnut - One Light
The building is now about the same height as HR Block. If there are 2 more floors to go and a roof parapet it will be visibly higher than Block. Just pleased that there will be some stairstep effect from Block to One Light to Towne Pavillion.

Really? Based on all of their virtual drawings it looked like it was going to be shorter than the HR block building? Coming from east 70 I'm not sure you will be able to see it over the red brick building around 1300 cherry

I looked at the unit virtual scenes well before they were leased. The SW corner top level was clearly above the top of H&R Block from their virtual tour. Wish I had saved that view now.bhedges1987 wrote:Really? Based on all of their virtual drawings it looked like it was going to be shorter than the HR block building? You can't see it from I-70 outside the loop. But it's very visible from the south on 71 and along the east side of the loop.

It looks considerably shorter than H&R Block. I took some pics today, will post when I have time to process all of them.

building perspective is hugely relational.longviewmo wrote:It looks considerably shorter than H&R Block. I took some pics today, will post when I have time to process all of them.
If you go down the east side of the loop it looks slightly taller already. You have to get up high to get a fair assessment of the height.
The best place to tell is actually from US 71 at approx 22nd. The road is on a high point with a view of both at the same time.
Re: Proposed apartment for 13th and Walnut - One Light
Yep, I commute to work north on 71 and One Light is now as tall as the top mechanical enclosure on HRB (i.e. above the roofline) to my eye from that angle. This is the elevator shaft, with the most recently completed full floor one story lower (HRB roofline). If you go down the east side of the loop it looks slightly taller already. You have to get up high to get a fair assessment of the height.

According to One Light's twitter feed, the forms are currently being set for the top floor..
Getting very close to the final height of this building.

The sole reason I watch channel 9 news over the others is their new "City Cam" gives a great shot of that area and I get to see how the construction is coming along.
I wish they'd put a high resolution stream online.

Really? A few on here said it would clearly be higher than HR. I drove by last weekend, looked a little lower than HR.mgh7676 wrote:According to One Light's twitter feed, the forms are currently being set for the top floor..

where did you drive by? because you cannot really compare the height of the buildings from anywhere closer than the other side of the crossroads.bhedges1987 wrote:Really? One Light is already higher.

Apparently from certain places it looks taller, but those places don't include the immediate vicinity.

Re: Proposed apartment for 13th and Walnut - One Light
per twitter, it's going to be approx. 291 feet when completed.
H&R Block is 236 feet tall.
It's going to be 25% taller. That shows how hard it is to compare building height from the ground.

Just walked by there today at lunch. All that is now left is the roof to frame out. So exciting!
