I'm not surprised to see that. The site of One Light was originally touted as a combination apartment/hotel tower, and I believe W Hotels was frequently mentioned as a potential tenant. The Four Light site is actually a better location for a hotel tenant, because it's closer to the convention center.

I find it interesting that the renderings everyone else posted did not include the W. Also a sign is blurred on top of three light in Cornish's twitter renderings that isn't there in the KC Biz Journal ones. Is it safe to assume we are getting a W hotel.

I dunno. Are you sure it isn't just a very large Whataburger?

Cordish pulled the tweet with all three towers and replaced it with just Two Light. It's an older rendering where the name is on a slanted section above the name and everything recent has a flat section above it.

I'm guessing they pre-released something on accident.

I thought the full website would be up now that it is after the ground breaking.

I would expect them to put something up when it comes time for leasing. August, I believe?

The crane is in the middle of Truman so the street will be closed for the duration of construction. Guess the same will happen for Three and Four Light. Looks like the counter balance will swing out over the interstate when the crane is in operation.

Yeah, I noticed that a few days ago. Sort of annoying that they feel the need to close all lanes on Truman west. They built One Light and still had the north bound lane open on Walnut and had much less space to work with. I usually take Truman over but now have to zig-zag around the PnL to get to work on 12th/Main.

I noticed this yesterday as well.

Does this pose any issues with MoDOT? Surely, any encroachment over MoDOT ROW would have been previously cleared with MoDOT, right?

I walk by every morning on my way to work. They are still working on the foundation. nothing vertical yet besides the molds that have been there for weeks.

I know nothing to speak of about cranes. Am I correct in thinking that the crane for Two Light is as tall as it will ever be and is considerably (50ft?) taller than the finished building will be?

I too pride myself in not knowing much about cranes. I do believe though that it gets taller over time.

They add links to it to make it taller once the building gets going.

Thanks, KCLover. I found a really informative video on how a crane is built, showing the way a climber unit jacks up the topmost tower section allowing the insertion of new sections. Guess I've never been around one long enough to see that take place.
