You posted a link for Metcalf 95, not Metcalf South.

So which development is this an update for?

Yeah, there's a subtlety and beauty in the layered nuances if you just look for it, man.

I think that's across the street from the mall.

You are correct, but that still doesn't tell us if these stores are going to Metcalf South

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/areal
A distinct part or section, as of a building, set aside for a specific function

The latest proposal (for the area south of 95th only) includes a Lowe's surrounded by individual retail pads. The article conveys that the developers seem to think this is acceptable because they won't need incentives and the retail pads and tree islands will break up the massive surface parking  I can't imagine this will go over well with residents given the fact that the same development has already been done right across the street with Home Depot.

So much parking!

We could legitimately use a Lowe's in this area though.

I t would be a competitor to Home Depot,Ranch Mart and so on near by. Nuts and Bolts might have to find a different area maybe closer to 103rd and Stateline or 435 and Roe. Zaxby's,Slims Chicken,Freddy's,Pizza Ranch,McCalister's Deli,Sit Down and so on Pad Sites maybe. Hopefully a Junior Department Store to and so on new to area. 159th Street and Metcalf Ave. where it was going to go same with Kohls at one time. Its one of the the Home Improvement Chains not in OP yet the others are like Harbor Freight,Menards,Sutherland's,Meeks,84 Lumber that use to be,Do it you best Center,Tractor Supply Company and so on. At least it has the same hours of Sears. In Altamonte Springs across from each other. Would something like Bloomingdales,Shopko or Meijer be better. Fast Food on Pad Sites maybe.
http://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/n ... es.html#g1 http://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/n ... j=73515752 will be called 95 Metcalf South know,Fits lowe's needs,July 11th first approval of it and so on.

Lane 4 is very excited that Lowe's is interested in becoming the major anchor tenant on the old Metcalf South spot. They are trying to attract restaurants to line the Metcalf side. From the pictures Lowes will sit facing South with the back of the store facing along 95th. Lane 4 will finish a nice side for Sears where they are currently attached to the Mall. No other tenants were named

The staff comments make it sound like the city staff feels sorry for the developer. Recommendation: approval with some hapless stipulations.
Vision Metcalf slowly gets eroded away...
Let another developer give it a shot before letting the first clown thru the shoot bastardize what the community said they wanted (in the $1M Vision Metcalf study).

But it will be the prettiest Lowe's and parking lot in the entire metro! Who doesn't want to stroll through such idyllic surroundings on their way to buy a ladder?
