The forumers that I've had the opportunity to meet were all pretty cool. Not to say that anyone is undesirable online, but in person, they were not quite what I had pictured.

Having said that, it's hard to say who I'd like to meet, because you really never know what you're going to get.

Yeah, I can cook. Heres a pic of a choc pate I made recently with a recipe from a very good teacher.

I'll go on record to offer my home and all its amenities for a get together if Chef wants to cook for us sometime this summer. We can make it as fancy or as casual as he wants.

The only stipulations would be that no one is excluded and that minors are not served any booze - by anyone while here.

unfortunately, i am serious. when deleting old private messages today, i went back in the old ones, and their were messages, from 14, FOURTEEN, different forumers, who, would not go if i allowed so and so to go. now, the so and so's, were a consortium of 5 different users on here, i will not be rude and name them, but, we all know who they are. either way, this is set up, by kcp, to be an anonymous message board ( even though one sick dimented person lately has been trying to undo that, not that it even matters i guess ) so, how can you have that much disdain and contempt for someone you do not even know? man, that is pathetic. get a life. i love this forum, and kansas city, i will admit, but to hate someone on here for their opinions? it is real sad. and, i can tell by the writings of a select few, that, there are a few on here that really do harbor that kind of malice, but, again, that is SAD. get a life.

i personally would be happy to resseruct this idea. we had kcp's blessing, i had asked him, since, this is his forum and all, and he said yeah. but, i would have no issues trying this again. it would be nice to meet everyone on here, at least the regulars i guess. i mean, i converse outside this forum with grid, dan, nota, tat, i think it would most definitely be nice to put a face with the name. i was supposed to with grid on opening day, but, we won't go into that again!! at any rate, i would have no issues trying this again, however, i caution everyone reading this with intrest, i will say fuck that, again, if i get my inbox flooded with "i will not go if you allow so and so to go", i will not disallow anyone. this is an anonymous message board, we do not know each other. if anyone that was the reason for concern initially acts like an idiot at the tailgate, then, they would probably be asked to go away, but, other then that, those of you who harbor these feelings of hatred, malice, and anger, it is unfounded. none of us know each other. NONE OF US. i mean, i can think of a precious few on here that go out of their way to pick a fight with me in almost every thread, and i usually defend my self with relative ease, however, i would say, there is no need to act like that in person. hell, there is no need to act like that here. we dont know each other, and oh yeah, the stadium vote, aka, the kcskyscrapers.com civil war of 2005-2006, is OVER. let it go. move on. we have the east village and pac coming. shit, lets be happy.

with regards to a forum tailgate / get together, i am all for it, my last 3 trips have been less then 36 hours, but, i would be happy to try again, anyone who SERIOUSLY wants to pursue this, i have a trip POSSIBLY planned for may 5-9, and there is a game on may 9. sorry nota, not at your house. my kc time is limited, i do not wish to pigeonhole some of it at a suburban get together, nothing personal, but, again, the time is limited. so, i would say, that we can do this IF we can agree to make it a public thing, and a tailgate sounds divine. but, i would def want my favorite two suburban posters there, akp and nota. sorry grid, you are not my favorite. good friend maybe, but not favorite. kidding.

specifically, dan, the flourless chocolate cake, i gave nota the recipes, she made the pate, i am not sure if she did flourless yet. i did it recently, dubbed girl scout thin mint decadence, because, the crust is made from girl scout thin mint cookies, but, the decadence part, any flourless chocolate dessert, that is baked, is a form of decadence. try this one.

btw, nota, again, thanks for sending me the picture, i will send you the cheese cracker recipe again.

You are a show off for sure    Made my feeble attempt look pretty amateur. However, it was definitely good.

Flourless cake is still in the future. A couple of weeks yet.

But I will make it (and it will be awesome of course)

I guess I'm going to have to get some fancy plates - Prydes, here I come......

i actually have a collection of like 50 some mis matched plates, i buy them that way intentionally, and when i do a chefs table in the kitchen ( where, i invite 6-8 V.I.P.'s who pay well ) into my kitchen, have it well cleaned, and set up a table with barstools around it, give them fancy aprons to wear, and cook a 5-8 course meal right in front of them ) anyways, when i do something like that, i bring in my plate collection, and everyone gets a different pattern, and that continues the whole meal. when i do a tasting, for a job interview of perspective clients, same thing. it is a NICE touch.

where i get them, is i will make a jaunt to a mikasa factory outlet store, and go to the back section, the clearance section, and they sell mis matched plates, that are from broken sets, CHEAP. try it. it is cool.

No MIKASA stores nearby, but I'll keep that in mind when I go home to Indiana. I'm still pissed that they closed my favorite DANSK store.

However, both you and I are going to get on the list of not talking about KC Development here.

Maybe we will be in Pittsburgh some day........ SWA has a good flight or at least they used to. Maybe you should invite us all there   My mom and dad's godson lives there I think. I might look him up.

That or at least try to stay on topic.
What is a slong winded diatribe? I guess I missed chef saying anyone hates him and are keeping him from his party.

As far as staying on topic-you are a fine one to talk.

well, luckily for us, we are civil, and this is a thread really devoted to the topic of discussing this sort of thing, so, since we are adults and can carry on a conversation, we will be fine!!

the only mikasa outlet store near kc i used was outside of oak grove. not exactly right up the road if you are in the northland. dansk is good though.

but, if you ever do pass a mikasa while traveling or something, as outlet stores are always indigenous to touristy areas, stop in and check it out. $20-$30 plates are sold for like $2.

i am not even going to respond to that. this topic was nice and everyone was having a nice time, until that.

I thought this thread is about who you'd like to meet.  I didn't know Julia Child and Mr. Food were options :)

Dan, you're not a suburbadroid.

Not all suburbanites are suburbadroids. Since you have an interest and passion for urban KC and STL, you're off the hook.

I could go on at length about what a suburbadroid is, but it would be a tedious and tortuous exposition.
